  2. I decided to make a new post because of the schedule change and because chapters 8 and 9 gave us a lot of new information. After the tour around the village is anyone finding a certain character in the village to be suspicious? I'm curious about Harriet's mother who wasn't even able to help the police when they searched her daughters room. Even if they had had a strained relationship she should have known a little bit about her daughters habits.
Also the cat that shows up in Blomkvist's house seems to be a bit random which makes me think it might be a symbol. thoughts?

  3. While reading today, I finally realized that the murder/disappearance of Harriet is about 35 years old.......

Anyways, I find the mother, Isabella suspicious. When Henrik describes her, he calls her vain as ever (134). Maybe she has something to hide?

I don't know about the cat...I think it's just a random thing that could be foreshadowing?

I don't know why but Salander is so interesting to me. Knowing that she was in a hospital at the age of thirteen makes me think that she is a lot older than she should be.

One last comment, anyone else realize how the weather was mentioned, oh, let's say, at least 20 times?
